Kumite Lifestyle is a podcast and community run by one person, Nicholas Arndt. This page explains what the website kumitelifestyle.com collects, why, and how you stay in control of it.
Short version: we collect as little as we can. We never sell your information. You can ask us to delete it any time.
What we collect
- Team account. If you join the free Team, we keep your first and last name, email address, birth date, the sport you pick (optional), whether you want our emails, and the episodes you save. We ask for your birth date only to confirm you are 13 or older. If you use a password, we store it scrambled so nobody, including us, can read it.
- Signing in with Google, Yahoo or Facebook. If you choose "Continue with Google", "Continue with Yahoo" or "Continue with Facebook", that company tells us your name, your email address and an account number for signing you back in. We do not get your password, contacts, messages or anything else from that account.
- Messages you send us. When you use a form on the site (contact, Share Your Story, waitlists), we keep what you type so we can read it and reply.
- Visitor counts. We count visits to see which pages and episodes people like: the page, the website that sent you, phone or computer, and your country or state. We do not use cookies or advertising trackers for this, and we do not store your IP address. Visitors cannot be followed from one day to the next.
- The Studio. If you enter the Studio with a guest code or a payment, we note the code or the payment confirmation and the time, so we know who to let in.
How we use it
- To run your account: signing you in and keeping your saved episodes on every device.
- To reply to you when you write to us.
- To send you new episodes and Kumite news, only if you said yes. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
- To understand what is working on the site, using the visitor counts above.
We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We do not use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
A few trusted services help run the site. Each only gets what it needs to do its job:
- Netlify hosts the website and stores accounts and messages.
- Resend sends our emails (sign-in links and newsletters).
- Google, Yahoo and Facebook, only if you choose to sign in with them.
- Fourthwall runs the shop. When you buy something, Fourthwall handles your order and payment under its own privacy policy.
- Stripe handles Studio payments. We never see your card number.
- YouTube plays episodes on the site, only after you press play.
Young athletes
Many people in our community are young competitors. You must be 13 or older to create your own Team account, which is why we ask for a birth date. If someone under 13 tries to join, we stop the sign-up and do not keep their details; a parent or guardian can create the account instead. If you are a parent and think your child gave us information without your permission, email us and we will delete it.
Delete your information
You can ask us to delete your Team account and everything linked to it at any time, including if you signed in with Google, Yahoo or Facebook:
- Email info@kumitelifestyle.com from the address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account".
- We delete your account, saved episodes and sign-in details within 30 days and email you when it is done.
You can also stop our emails any time with the unsubscribe link, or from your Team page. If you signed in with Google, Yahoo or Facebook, you can remove Kumite Lifestyle from that account’s security settings too.
Keeping it safe
Accounts and messages are kept in private storage that only the site owner can reach. Sign-ins use secure connections and signed cookies. No system is perfect, so we keep only what we need, for as long as we need it.
Changes and questions
