Welcome to the Studio.
You're in the right place. Take a breath. We'll see you in a moment.
Every session is credential-protected. When your booking is confirmed, you'll receive a confirmation email with your scheduled time and a personalized session passcode — unique to you, or to the group invited together. This is not an open room.
Opens Zoom in your browser or the Zoom app. You'll be admitted from the waiting room when you arrive.
Four steps. That's it.
Whether this is your first time on Zoom or your hundredth, here's exactly what happens when you click Join.
At the date and time we agreed on, come to kumitelifestyle.com and tap Studio. Keep your personalized session passcode from your confirmation email handy — Zoom may ask for it.
You'll see a "waiting for the host" screen. That's by design — we verify each arrival against the invite list before admitting them. Usually under a minute.
Zoom drops you into the meeting. Your mic and camera may start off — turn them on with the buttons at the bottom of the Zoom window.
Quick "can you hear me?" check, then we go. No script. No pressure. Just a real conversation.
Your invite link and session passcode are sent to you ahead of time. Bring those, and the button does the rest.
Before you join.
A quick 60-second check so we can get straight into the conversation when you arrive.
Your browser may ask permission. Allow both — they're how the conversation happens.
Find a calm room. Close the door. Mute notifications. Let people know you'll be heads-down.
Window in front of you (not behind). A lamp works too. Don't worry about perfect — just visible.
Wired is best. If you can't, sit close to the router. Phone hotspot is a fine backup.
No script. No gotchas. Just a real conversation.
First five minutes are casual — say hi, check audio, settle in. The mat is set, the mic is on, no pressure.
Most sessions run 45–75 minutes. We follow where the story goes. If something needs another take, we'll just do it.
We'll share the published episode link with you once it's live. Coaching sessions: a short recap and any agreed next steps.
If you're wondering…
Do I need to install Zoom?
Not required — you can join from your browser. But the Zoom app gives noticeably better audio and is more stable, so install it if you can (free, takes one minute).
What if I'm running late?
Just join when you can — we'll be in the waiting room. If it's more than 15 minutes, drop a quick message so we know you're still coming.
Can I join from my phone?
Yes, but for podcast recordings a laptop or desktop is strongly preferred — the audio comes out cleaner and the framing is more stable. Coaching sessions on phone are fine.
Will this be recorded?
Podcast sessions: yes, both audio and video. Final edits and editorial decisions are at Kumite Lifestyle's discretion — that's how we maintain editorial integrity for the show. You'll receive the published episode link once it goes live. Coaching sessions: only if we've agreed to it ahead of time — you own the recording.
The Join button isn't working — now what?
Try refreshing the page first. If it's a one-off meeting with its own link, use the URL from your invite email instead. Still stuck? Email info@kumitelifestyle.com and we'll get you in.
How do I know when my session is?
Your scheduled date, time, and personalized session passcode all arrive in the confirmation email the Kumite Lifestyle team sent you. If it's on your calendar too, even better. Set a reminder for 5 minutes before so you have time to settle in.
Where do I find my session passcode?
Your passcode is in your confirmation email — the same one that has your scheduled date and time. It's specific to your session and won't work for anyone else's. Can't find the email? Check your spam folder first, then email info@kumitelifestyle.com and we'll resend it. For your privacy, please don't share your passcode — sessions are by invitation only.
Can I share my link with someone else?
Please don't. Sessions are by invitation only, and your link and passcode are unique to your booking. Sharing them with someone who wasn't on the original invite means they won't be admitted from the waiting room — so it's not just etiquette, it doesn't actually work. If you'd like to add someone to the session, let the Kumite Lifestyle team know and we'll send them their own invite with their own credentials.
Do I need a Zoom account to join?
No account needed. Zoom may ask for your name when you arrive — that's just so we know it's you in the waiting room. Use the name we know you by. No password to type, no codes to enter, nothing to sign up for.
Is the session private? Can anyone else join?
Yes — and we treat it that way. Every session is credential-protected and by invitation only. When your booking is confirmed, you receive an email with your scheduled time and a personalized session passcode, unique to you (or to the group invited together). Strangers who happen to click Studio don't have your passcode — and even if they reached the meeting room, our waiting-room verification screens every arrival against the invite list. This is not an open forum. Your session stays just between us.
My camera or microphone isn't working — help?
Two quick fixes: (1) Look at the bottom of the Zoom window — make sure neither the mic icon nor the camera icon has a red slash through it. Click them to turn on. (2) Your browser may have asked permission earlier — look for a popup at the top of the page and click Allow. If it still won't work, leave the meeting, close the tab, and click Studio again. That fixes it 9 times out of 10.
Should I show up early?
Five minutes early is perfect — gives you time to test your audio and settle in. More than 10 minutes early and the waiting room can feel awkward. We open the room right at the scheduled time.
What if the host isn't there when I arrive?
Sit tight — the host is coming. Sometimes there's a short delay between sessions. If it's been more than 5 minutes past your scheduled time, send a quick email so we can confirm you're in the right place. Life happens — we'll be in touch.
Do I need to prepare anything?
For podcast guests: bring your story and a glass of water — that's it. No homework, no script, no talking points to memorize. For coaching clients: bring whatever's on your mind. Show up as yourself.
Your invite is the source of truth.
If your confirmation email included a specific meeting link or a separate passcode, those are your personalized credentials — use them. They take precedence over anything on this page. Sessions are by invitation only.
